Ulster have announced the capture of former Waratahs defence coach, Joe Barakat, who is set to join the province as an assistant coach on a two-year contract this summer.

The experienced coach will replace former Ulster stalwart Jonny Bell after the province also confirmed that he would be joining Premiership club, Gloucester at the end of the season.

Barakat, who worked at Waraths for five years, explained his decision by saying: "This is a great opportunity for me to join a top European organisation and I am really excited to have the chance to work with and help improve such a strong panel of players at Ulster."
