Barcelona manager Luis Enrique is insisting that he wants to keep Manchester United target Pedro at the Nou Camp.

The World Cup and Champions League-winning attacker is believed to be unhappy with his place at the club and according to United We Stand editor and Off The Ball contributor Andy Mitten, the Spain international wants to leave despite Enrique's wishes.

Some reports have suggested that a fee of just over £20M has already been agreed between both clubs for the player who scored Barcelona's winner against Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup on Tuesday.

In more concrete transfer news, Everton have signed teenage defender Mason Holgate from Barnsley for an undisclosed fee.

He has signed a five-year contract and follows the path of England defender John Stones, who also started out at Barnsley, before switching to Everton in 2013.

Holgate made his senior debut last season and went on to become a key member of their team.

Watford boss Quique Flores believes they are close to signing former West Ham forward Alessandro Diamati from Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande, possibly on loan.

The player, who has represented Italy, is training with the club.

Flores says both teams are currently in negotiations over Diamati.

Meanwhile, Southampton manager Ronald Koeman say there is no chance that he will sell Jose Fonte during the transfer window.

It is understood that both Aston Villa and Everton are interested in signing the defender, who excelled last season.
