Tommy Bowe is out of the Lions tour of Australia, following an injury suffered in this morning’s clash with Queensland Reds.

Bowe was substituted early in the second half and spent much of the remainder of the game on the bench with a heavily bandaged hand in a sling. Warren Gatland then told RTE after the game that Bowe’s injury was a broken bone, which would require surgery and necessitate calling up a replacement.

Bowe's withdrawal follows quickly after the loss of Cian Healy and Gethin Jenkins, both of whom dropped out due to injury in the past day.
