Tomas O'Leary said missing Munster's big days helped him make his decision to return home after three years with London Irish.

The scrum-half's return to his province was confirmed today, having moved to the Aviva Premiership in 2012.

Speaking to Off The Ball tonight, he said: "It's been tough watching Munster from the outside, especially come the big Heineken Cup and Champions Cup days. Those are the days where it hits you that you left something great and the chance then came up to return home. So I jumped at it."

Adding that London Irish's form on the pitch had been frustrating, he also explained that he wanted to broaden his horizons when he first moved to London.

"When I was deciding three years ago what I'd do with my contract. I decided that I wanted to experience something different, different culture and fortunately I didn't have to travel too far to do it," he said.
