Kilkenny made hard going of it as they conceded four goals, but with yet another swish of their Black and Amber tails, the Cats did enough to beat Offaly in Tullamore yesterday afternoon.

TJ Reid, who contributed a point to the Cats 0-26 to 4-9 victory, spoke to Newstalk Breakfast's Oisin Langan after the game.

It was a sweet return for Reid who was making his first competitve appearance of the year, after an eight month injury lay-off kept him out of the Cats' league commitments.

"It was my first game back after missing the whole league. It's the time of the year to be back hurling and it's a great feeling," he said.

"We got through today but it was a tough test. Travelling up to Tullamore, we knew it wasn't going to be easy. Everytime we had the ball there were three or four lads on us but we kept tipping away and got the result."
