Trainer Colin Tizzard says he is 99 per cent sure that Thistlecrack will still miss the Cheltenham Festival.

The King George winner, who is owned by John and Heather Snook , is due to undergo another scan on a tendon injury which could rule him out of an opportunity at glory in the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

Discussing the horse's condition, Tizzard told The Racing Post that today's scan is to assess the extent of the damage rather than investigate whether there was a misdiagnosis.

He says Thistlecrack has been recovering well but "as far as I'm concerned he's still out."

"As far as I'm concerned he's still out," said Tizzard, adding that, "We live in an uncertain world but he's 99 per cent out."

Last week, Tizzard had ruled out Thistlecrack from contention.
