Former Tipp hurler Eoin Kelly is concerned by one trend creeping into the sport of late.

"This faking injury and trying to get a guy to receive a card, I don't think we have any place for it," he told Off The Ball.

Kelly also picked out a couple of instances from recent games.

"Looking at a couple of the games, looking for red cards, yellow cards, it's something we haven't seen in hurling before. An example would be the Pat O'Connor-Sean Tobin incident. It happens in championship hurling. You're revved up, you're training for 6-9 months. A little jostle and there might have been a small jab of a hurl, but Pat O'Connor hit the ground straight away. Even Donal O'Grady's incident in the same game. Donal hit the ground fairly quickly. A good game of hurling doesn't have that."
