SOCCER

UCD and Shamrock Rovers were both knocked-out of the Europa League last night.

UCD were beaten 5-1 in Belfield as they suffered a heavy 6-1 aggregate loss against Slovan Bratislava.

Elsewhere, Shamrock Rovers lost-out 2-1 against Odds in Norway, which meant that Pat Fenlon's side were beaten 4-1 across both legs.

Later tonight, there's just three games in the Airtricity League Premier Division.

Bohemians will host Derry City at Dalymount Park, while Galway United are at home to Bray Wanderers.

Both of those games will kick-off at 19:45, while there's an 8pm start at The Showgrounds, where Sligo Rovers entertain St. Pat's

In the First Division tonight, Athlone Town take-on Wexford Youths and Shelbourne travel to the RSC to face Waterford United.

Both matches start at 19:45.

GOLF

Bernhard Langer and Miguel Angel Jimenez are among the players who are tied for the lead ahead of the start of the second-round at the Senior Open Championship.

The duo are among a group of eight players on 5-under par at Sunningdale.

Des Smyth and Philip Walton are both on 1-over par at the start of day two.

CYCLING

Yellow jersey holder Chris Froome has just two more stages to survive in this year's Tour de France.

The Team Sky leader holds an advantage of more than three minutes over the rest of the field as the riders prepare for the penultimate Alpine stage of this year's race.

ATHLETICS

RACING

There's racing this evening at Down Royal and in Wexford.
