Man United's chances of securing a Champions League qualification spot suffered a major setback today, following a 1-1 draw against Swansea.

A first half penalty from Wayne Rooney was cancelled out by a Gilfy Sigurdsson free-kick late in the second half, which ultimately denied United the chance of moving into the top four on the Premier League table.

The penalty was a dubious decision after Marcus Rashford went down in the box following a challenge from Swansea keeper Lukasz Fabianski.

A replay of the incident however, appeared to show the striker forcing contact as he went down.

Following Sigurdsson's stunning goal, Swansea had a chance to steal the lead in added time.

The goal-scorer floated a beautiful cross into the United box, but Fernando Llorente couldn't get into position to help the ball into the net from just outside the goalmouth.

The result sees United stay in fifth place and are level on points with Man City, although they could in line for a reprieve as Middlesbrough lead City 2-1 at home.
