SOCCER

Dundalk remain six points clear at the top of the Airtricity League Premier Division.

The defending champions had to work hard for a 1-0 win over Bray Wanderers at the Carlisle Grounds. Ciaran Kilduff was the goal scorer on his debut for Stephen Kenny's side.

However, Cork City have kept pace with the league leaders after a 4-0 win over Bohemians at Turners Cross.

Mark O'Sullivan scored twice in the first-half for the Leesiders.

Elsewhere in the top-flight, St Pat's and Shamrock Rovers remain in third and fourth respectively.

Conan Byrne scored a brace for The Saints, who were 3-1 winners over 10-man Galway United at Richmond Park

And Rovers claimed a 1-0 win over their hosts Drogheda United.

Meanwhile, Derry City registered a comfortable 3-0 win over Longford Town.

In the First Division tonight, Wexford Youths missed out on a chance to regain the top spot as they were held to a scoreless draw.

It means that Finn Harps remain a point clear at the summit after they also drew 0-0 against Athlone Town at Finn Park.

Elsewhere, Cobh Ramblers heaped more misery on Waterford United with a 3-1 win at the RSC and UCD defeated Dublin rivals, Cabinteely, 3-1 in Stradbrook.

RACING

"Clondaw Warrior" has won today's big race at the Galway Festival.

The Willie Mullins-trained eight-year old bagged the €60K  top prize on offer in the Guinness Handicap after being sent off at odds of 4/11 under jockey Jack Kennedy.

Meanwhile, trainer Tony Martin continued his excellent run of form this week after finishing the day with a hat-trick in Ballybrit - including a win for "Vive La France" in the Guinness Handicap Hurdle.

GAA

Dublin have named an unchanged team ahead of Sunday's All Ireland quarter-final against Fermanagh at Croke Park.

Dubs boss Jim Gavin has retained the same 15 that started the Leinster final win over Westmeath three weeks ago as they prepare to take on the surprise package of this year's Championship.

Donegal have made one enforced change to their side ahead of Saturday's All Ireland qualifier against Galway.

The knee injury to Karl Lacey means that Anthony Thompson starts at centre-back, but Paddy McBrearty and Michael Murphy have both shaken off knee injuries to keep their places in attack.
