The debt at the FAI has increased in the past 12 months, according to an Irish Independent report this morning.
The Association are now €51.2million in the red, for accounts up to the end of last year. That's an increase of over €1million for the year ending 2013.
The figures have been released ahead of the FAI's AGM which is to take place in Sligo next month. The news comes as a blow to the Association, who have received a debt write down of nearly €12million last year.
Qualification for the European Championships next year in France will now seem even more important to alleviate the debt situation in Abbotstown.
