While the result of the Brexit vote is still having implications around Europe, it's also hitting the pockets of American-based sports stars.
Last week, Serena Williams' prize fund at Wimbledon was significantly decreased due to the Pound Sterling becoming weaker to the American Dollar. This week it was the turn of Sweden's Henrik Stenson.
The Florida-based golfer will earn less money for winning The Open, compared to last year's winner Zach Johnson, despite there being a bigger prize fund for the Royal Troon event.

Stenson was not the only player to fall foul of the change in exchange rates. It the tournament happened three weeks earlier, Phil Mickelson would have won over $100,000 more.
Instead, he only had to do with just over an €800,000 cheque.
Phil Mickelson won $891,000 today, which is $108,000 less than he would have won 3 weeks ago because of the weakness of the British Pound.

It's a trend that may be continue if the Pound Sterling fails to recover after last month's historic vote.
