On the night that Netherlands stunned the world by thrashing Spain 5 - 1 at the World Cup, I was covering Bray Wanderers' 5 - 0 defeat at the hands of Bohemians at the Carlisle Grounds.

Also there was Stuart Byrne who joined on Off The Ball as always on a Tuesday with Roddy Collins to talk about the big stories in domestic football.

One of those is Bray's plea for help to the fans amid "serious financial difficulties".

While Stuey and Roddy praised the family atmosphere and the running of the club on a tight budget, Stuey had a concern based on his experience of a small group of supporters at that match against Bohemians in June.

"There was a group of 10 or 15 core supporters sat in one corner of the [main] stand, down by the Bray town end. I have to be honest, the vile abuse and language out of them was unbelievable. And because Bray don't get much of an atmosphere there, you could hear everything and there were kids beside me. I'd be fairly thick-skinned when it comes to this stuff and I've heard it all and I couldn't listen to it. I think that's something they have to address," said Stuey, who felt that group acted like "muppets" and added that cutting out that sort of behaviour will help attract more families to the Carlisle Grounds on a regular basis.
