Ireland's Stephanie Roche has missed out on the FIFA Puskas award at the Ballon D'Or ceremony. 

Instead, the Goal of the Year prize went to Colombia's James Rodriguez for his World Cup strike against Uruguay.

The Real Madrid midfielder got 42 per cent of the votes, while Roche finished second on 33 per cent.

Manchester United's Robin van Persie finished third on 11 per cent for his World Cup header against Spain.
