Arsenal and Manchester United look likely to be among the second group of seeded teams in the Champions League for the first time in more than a decade.

UEFA have confirmed a new system for next season's competition, which will see the winners of each domestic league made top seeds.

It means Premier League leaders Chelsea would likely be in the first pot, with Arsenal and United in the second.

Manchester City, who are fourth in the top flight, have dropped out of European football's top 16 clubs.

The new system would see the Champions League winner and the title holders in the top seven ranked European teams forming the eight top seeds.
