Liverpool's Martin Skrtel has been banned for three matches for his stamp on Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea.

The defender failed in his bid to appeal a Football Association charge of violent conduct relating to the incident during their Premier League defeat at Anfield on Sunday.

Skrtel will miss top flight games against Arsenal and Newcastle, as well as Liverpool's FA Cup quarter-final replay with Blackburn.
