Maria Sharapova remains on course to defend her French Open tennis title, after reaching the final of this year's tournament.

She beat Belarusian Victoria Azarenka in three sets on a score of 6-1  2-6  6-4.

The Russian will play the winner of the semi between top seed Serena Williams and Sara Errani, the player Sharapova beat in the 2012 finale.
