New Clare football manager Colm Collins has confirmed that his sons Seán and Podge will make themselves available for the footballers this season.

The siblings won All Ireland senior hurling medals last year.

As well as winning the Liam McCarthy Cup, the Collins brothers were part of the Cratloe team that reached the Munster Club football final.

"All I know for sure is that Seán and Podge are playing football," Colm Collins told the Irish Daily Star.

The Banner footballers are in Division 4 of the Allianz league.

But Clare hurling boss Davy Fitzgerald has previously voiced his wariness about players taking on dual status at senior inter-county level.

Last month, he told Clare FM that, although he would not stand in the way of players who opt for dual status, he believes balancing the two codes is difficult.
