This year's NBA playoffs are just getting started but who are the likely contenders for the title after the gruelling best of seven series.

Ryan Jones of Slam! Magazine says LeBron James and his Cleveland Cavaliers team-mates are finding their groove.

He told Off The Ball: "I think the Cavs are clearly the favourite right now and they've figured it out with LeBron and Kyrie Irving. They've clearly been the two main guys for the Cavs. Kevin Love has had to find his spot and struggled at times and there's been a little drama around that about how well he's fit in. But I think they're in a good position to get to the finals."

Jones also feels that the evergreen San Antonio Spurs cannot be written off, while the Golden State Warriors are an interesting prospect in the Western Conference.

Klay Thompson

"Right now, this team with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and a great collection of guys are just so much fun to watch, young and fresh and when they get shooting well, it's sort of phenomenal to watch," he said.

"But again, those guys haven't proved anything deep in the playoffs. You know they're going to have to get past some combination of Houston and San Antonio and perhaps the Clippers. Again, because the west is so tough, they're going to have to beat two very, very good teams just to get to the finals."
