Former Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has been appointed by Zenit St Petersburg.

The Italian led City to the Premier League title in 2012 and the FA Cup in 2011, and was most recently Inter Milan boss in a second spell, having previously led the Nerazzurri to three consecutive Serie A titles and two Coppa Italia crowns.

He has signed a three year contract with the Russian club.

In a Q&A with his new club, Mancini is targeting trophies.

"My goal is only one, to win, to win and to win! But for this we need to work very hard, we need to be serious, we need to have the same targets together, I think we can do this with the support of our fans, because I know that we have incredible fans and I’m sure that in one year, we’ll do our best and will win something important!" he said.

Mancini will replace former Shakhtar Donetsk manager Mircea Lucescu who was sacked at the end of last season after they finished third in the Russian Premier League.
