Ireland manager Martin O'Neill has confirmed that Robbie Keane will continue as the team captain for the time being.
O'Neill and his assistant manager Roy Keane took charge of their first training session with the squad this morning as they prepare for their first game in charge.
The new Ireland boss has revealed that Robbie Brady and Anthony Pilkington both plan to travel over to Dublin to meet the new management team, even though they will not be fit to play in this Friday's friendly international against Latvia.
O'Neill says he is yet to speak with the Ireland captain about his long-term future in the role, but he will not be making any sudden changes.
"Robbie arrived in last night. I haven't had the chance to speak to him one on one," said O'Neill at today's press conference.
"I wouldn't have thought that much would have changed in this immediate time that we have. I don't see any reason to do that. After these two games are over, I will get back to the point when I have time to consider these things."
