It took four matches and a return to four at the back to finally see Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal notch his first win in the Premier League.

A vibrant attacking performance against a desperately listless QPR side helped the Reds to victory and former Ireland midfielder Steven Reid and Off The Ball's Dave McIntryre saw the performance first hand at Old Trafford yesterday.

Reid noted nervousness in the Manchester United ranks until the opening goal from Angel Di Maria settled them down.

"Going forward they look like a great attacking threat at the moment but still for me they're still vulnerable at the back for me," said the former West Brom and Blackburn Rovers midfielder who is currently at Burnley.

"In January, it's an area they could still strengthen."

From an attacking perspective, it was the pace of the forward forays which impressed Reid, with Ander Herrera "knitting things together" and Di Maria injecting speed.

He also feels that bringing in "ready-made" stars of European football like Di Maria and Radamel Falcao will bring the best out of the players around them.

One of those players is young defender Tyler Blackett who has been pitched into a "sink or swim" situation and Reid gave his assessment of the 20-year-old's performances thus far.

But does he think Man United can get into the Top Four?
