Rangers midfielder Joey Barton has been signed off with stress amid an absence from training.
At the start of November, the ex-Manchester City, Newcastle and QPR player had returned to training following a lengthy ban.
His suspension had been spurred by a training ground argument with a team-mate which led the Glasgow club to initially impose a three week ban from training which was later extended.
However, since his return, he has not been at training since Thursday of last week.
According to sources, Sky Sports report that Barton has "been signed off with stress".
In October, Barton had also been charged with betting on 44 football matches by the Scottish Football Association.
The 34-year-old has made just eight appearances since joining Rangers in the summer.
