The Spaniard is into the fourth round after hammering Georgia's Nikoloz Basilashvili 6-0, 6-1, 6-0.

It was a commanding win for the 14 time Grand Slam winner who is aiming for not just a 15th Grand but a 10th French Open crown.

The clay court specialist will now face countryman Roberto Bautista Agut next.

Earlier in the women's draw, defending champion Garbine Muguruza saw off Kazakhstan's Yulia Putintseva in straight sets.

She will take on American Shelby Rogers or Kristina Mladenovic of France in the next round at the tournament.
