Many of you will remember Philipp Cocu from his fairly recent playing career at club and international level.

But the versatile former Barcelona, PSV and Netherlands midfielder is one of the young breed of manager and will lead his PSV Eindhoven tonight as they welcome Manchester United in tonight's Champions League action.

Cocu played for United manager Louis van Gaal at Barca and at international level and although he was full of praise for the impact his former coach had on his own career, he also explained why other players may struggle to adapt to his compatriot's methods.

"It's not so difficult, if you are open to it and you are convinced that his way is the best way for the team. The only differences are between the players. Some players are open, learn quickly, while others likes to play on their intuition and find it harder," he told ESPN.
