Phil Taylor says personal problems got the better of him as he crashed out of the PDC World Championships.

"The Power" went down 4-3 to Jelle Klaasen in the last-16 last night.

Taylor, who has 16 world championship titles to his name, praised the Dutchman before admitting that personal issues had affected his own performance.

After his exit, he told Sky Sports 3: "Do you want me to be honest? I’m not fit enough, I’m not mentally right. I’ve got over this year now. I’m getting divorced in February. It's well publicised. So next year I can push on."

Meanwhile Klaasen will go on to play tournament debutant Alan Norris in the quarter finals tomorrow.

Peter Wright beat Dave Chisnall 4-3 last night to set up a last-8 meeting with Adrian "Jackpot" Lewis.
