On Christmas Day, TG4 will screen a new documentary about the life and times of Kerry legend Paidi O'Se who passed away last December.
Directed by his neighbour Louise Ní Fhiannachta, the documentary features contributions from Paidi's family, friends and those from the Gaeltacht community from which he hailed.
Tonight Joe spoke to Louise about the making of the documentary and his important connection with his native Ventry.
"As a young girl watching my Dad revere his school-mate (Paidi), there was something interesting about it. When Paidi died, talking to my Dad and others in the community that day, it brought back home to me how much of a hero he was to them.
"We have to remember the hope that Paidi brought during his playing days in the early 70s and right through the Kerry Golden Years team. Ventry as a community was pretty isolated at the time and he absolutely put Ventry on the map."
The documentary also features anecdotes from Paidi's youth and school years including his first day at school when he punched Louise's father because he took exception to the colour of his hair.
Louise also provided an insight into Paidi's shy nature and the strong influence of his mother Beatrice.
