A resilient Arsenal have just fallen to Bayern Munich in a 2 - 0 first leg defeat.

But it is the poor performance of Mesut Ozil that will make the back pages.

Not helped by his penalty miss, it only serves to highlight the German's dip in form.

After the game, Off The Ball spoke to Andrew Mangan of Arseblog who believes fatigue is playing a major part in the former Real Madrid player's issues.

"I think he's tired because he's played the full 90 against Manchester United, the full 90 against Liverpool on Sunday and they were difficult games. I think his form is poor at the moment. I think the penalty, you could look at it as a turning point and perhaps in his season," said Mangan of Ozil's form.

"I would be surprised to see him in the team against Sunderland just because he might need that break when there are more difficult fixtures coming up. The quality I don't think is the issue with Ozil because in September everyone was creaming themselves over the fact that Arsenal had signed him. I just think he's going through a particularly bad time."
