One of Transfer Deadline Day's traditions is to be stamped out

It's become a tradition in recent years, but from now on Sky Sports News's coverage of Transfer Deadline Day will no longer involve fans standing behind football reporters outside Premier League training grounds.

It follows an incident last year, which was caught live on air, when an individual waved a sex toy behind reporter Alan Irwin outside Everton's training ground. The person then proceeded to poke the object into Irwin's ear.

According to The Telegraph, the safety of reporters and obscene outbursts from onlookers is the main reason behind the decision to prevent fans from congregating in the background during reports.

Sky Sports News have reportedly requested permission for reporters to work from within Premier League training grounds, something which has been accepted by most clubs. 

The transfer deadline for this month is on Monday, February 2nd at 11pm.
