The Dutch Euro 2016 qualification campaign was a shambles.

In ten games they won four and lost five conceding more goals that the likes of Scotland and Estonia in their attempts to qualify. Danny Blind's side needed to win last night to have any hope of reaching the play offs to qualify for Euro 2016.

After 35 minutes, the Czech Republic led 2-0 with goals coming from Pavel Kaderabek and Josef Sural. Blind brought on Robin van Persie before half time, as the Dutch desperately tried to get back into the game. Marek Suchy was sent off before half time for the Czech too meaning the Dutch had more than half of the game with a man advantage.

van Persie had an impact on the game after the hour mark scoring a header, but sadly it was past his own goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet. In a game the Dutch needed to win, they were losing 3-0.

The Dutch eventually scored two goals from Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and van Persie but Blind's side could not get the crucial third and fouth goals that were needed to keep their dream alive.

From a side that finished third in the World Cup only 16 months ago, it is some fall from grace for the Oranje.
