The sprint specialist won the battle for the line in a mass finish today in Brittany.

But Ireland's Sam Bennett finished in 10th place as he got his first chance to make an impact during this year's race.

After leaving it vacant today following the withdrawal of Tony Martin last night, Team Sky's Chris Froome has now taken over the race leader's yellow jersey and holds a five second lead over Peter Sagan.

Dan Martin has slipped a place to 34th overall with Nicolas Roche back in 73rd and Bennett in 175th overall.
