Former Kerry full-forward Dara O'Cinneide believes the Kingdom have nothing to lose by bringing Paul Galvin back to the panel.

Speaking to Off The Ball tonight, O'Cinneide reacted to the news that Galvin has come out of retirement. 

"Kerry have absolutely nothing to lose. If he contributes something in the next couple of weeks or months, that's fantastic. If the younger lads learn a bit off him, even better again," he said.

"It is viewed as a gamble, but the only gamble is on Paul's part and he obviously feels he's ready and willing to go."  

O'Cinneide also believes the timing makes sense for Galvin.

"The fact that the injuries have cleared up and he is moving freer than he has been for a long, long time. He can be in Kerry a lot more often than he initially thought he would. I would say that contributed to the decision to come back," said O'Cinneide.
