Munster GAA say no decision has been made as of yet on potential alterations to this year's Senior Hurling and Football Championships.

Gaelic Games are suspended across the country until March 29th at the very earliest, while counties like Kilkenny and Dublin have postponed fixtures for the 'club only' month of April.

Earlier this week, Connacht GAA confirmed that one of the first fixtures of this year's Football Championship has been postponed.

Instead, New York vs. Galway originally slated for Gaelic Park on May 3rd "will be considered at a later date and in the context of the anticipated overall re-drawing of the national fixtures calendar for 2020".

This year's Munster Hurling Championship is due to begin on May 10th with the meetings of Cork and Limerick at Páirc Uí Chaoimh, and Waterford and Tipperary at Walsh Park.

The Munster Football quarter-finals are both due to take place on May 9th with Waterford playing Limerick and Clare taking on Tipperary.

Players across the country are currently unable to train, and Munster GAA say that "if the ban on collective training and games is extended beyond March 29th, then Munster GAA take the appropriate action, based on the information to hand at that stage".

However, no decisions on the formats or dates for this year's Senior, Minor or Under-20 Championships can be made until that ban is lifted.

The Electric Ireland Munster Minor Football Championship was due to get underway on April 8, but the Munster CCC have consulted with the counties and agreed to put that start date back to April 22nd - provided the ban on activities is lifted on March 29th.

However, such a relaxing of the rules appears unlikely at this stage and the promise of altered or truncated championships is becoming more and more likely.
