David Moyes has started his Manchester United career with a disappointing defeat as his Manchester United side fell 1-0 to a Singha All Star XI side in Bangkok.

Moyes was missing a host of first team players due to injury or extended summer holidays, but still had regular first team players such as Rio Ferdinand, Ryan Giggs, Danny Welbeck, Johnny Evans and Michael Carrick in the starting line-up. Wilfired Zaha played half an hour for the visitors.

Stiffling heat and early pre-season fitness levels left United weary and facing a tough test against a motivated opposition and Teeratep Winothai 50th minute strike was the difference between the sides at the final whistle.
