The Kildare footballers will be without Tommy Moolick for the start of their National League campaign.

The midfielder has been ruled out for up to eight weeks with a knee injury that he suffered while playing for UCD against his native county during last Sunday's O'Byrne Cup clash.

However, Kildare manager Jason Ryan will be relieved that the player has not been left with cruciate damage after scans on the injury this morning confirmed that he damaged his medial knee ligament.
