Mick O' Dwyer has refused to call an end to his career in football, despite stepping down from his position as Clare manager at the weekend.

The 77-year-old said his priority at the moment is to correct an ankle problem that he describes as an "old war wound". It stems from his days as a player with Kerry.

He said he "does not know all about" taking charge as manager again, but could "help in some other way".

O'Dwyer has been involved in management for almost 40 years, having first taken charge of Kerry in 1975.

He has also led Kildare, Wicklow and Laois.
