Today was a good day for Michail Antonio.
Not only did the West Ham winger get his side's only goal during their 3-1 defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, he is celebrating his first call up to the international side.
Sam Allardyce enjoyed another momentous landmark in his career as he named his first squad as England manager for their upcoming World Cup qualifying campaign.
Antonio is the only uncapped player in Allardyce’s first England squad and most notably there was no room for Everton's Ross Barkley.
Another notable absentee was is Jermain Defoe, who worked with Allardyce last year at Sunderland. His goals proved vital in the Black Cats surviving the drop last season, but he was overlooked by former manager Roy Hodgson for the European Championships in June.

Antonio's good form has surely been the encouragement for call-up and his goal today proves that the 26-year-old is certainly full of potential.
