The identity of the boxer Michael Conlan will take on in his first professional fight has been revealed.

Conlan's bout with Ibarra will take place in the theatre at Madison Square Garden on St. Patrick's Day.

The official announcement of the Conlan fight will take place on Wednesday at a press conference at New York's Madison Square Garden Chase Square.

Conlan's friend and former Team Ireland team-mate Paddy Barnes is also due to be on the undercard of the St Patrick's Day fight.

And on a bumper weekend of Irish boxing in New York, 2012 Olympic champions Katie Taylor will continue to take further steps in her professional career, with a fight on March 18th.

That will be on the undercard of the WBA (Super), WBC, IBF, and IBO title middleweight title fight between champion Gennady Golovkin and American challenger Daniel Jacobs.
