Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell have been paired together for the opening two days of this year's US Open at Pinehurst.

The two Ulstermen will be joined by fellow US Open winner Webb Simpson and will tee-off at around 12.40 Irish time next Thursday.

Shane Lowry's reward for his qualification win is a grouping alongside Brendon De Jonge and Kevin Stadler, while Darren Clarke is joined by the South African pair of Ernie Els and Louis Oosthuizen.

Masters winner Bubba Watson is joined by his fellow green jacket holders, Adam Scott and Charl Schwartzel.
