Mark McHugh has confirmed that he wants to get back involved with the Donegal footballers next year.
The former Footballer of the Year nominee dramatically withdrew from Jim McGuinness' panel at the start of the season, revealing that he felt he no longer had the necessary hunger to commit to the demands of inter-county football.
In his absence, Donegal have regained the Ulster title and are back in the All Ireland final.
Speaking at the launch of the Kilmacud Crokes FBD7s Launch, McHugh says he is hoping that he can play his way back into the squad for next year:
"I'm definitely looking to get back in but it's not my call if I get back in, whoever the manager is - whether it's Jim [McGuinness] or whoever it is. I have to prove myself again like any other club player in Ireland. I have to perform in my club Championship. I love Donegal football and if I do get back, I'll jump at the chance."
