The two Manchester clubs have been kept apart after the draw for the semi-finals of the League Cup.

Manchester City will play host to West Ham in the last four, while United will have to make the trip to the Stadium of Light to face Sunderland.

Second-half goals from Ashley Young and Patrice Evra helped United to a 2 - 0 win over Stoke at the Britannia Stadium.

Despite a 10-minute delay during the first-half because of a severe hailstorm, United proved to have more of a cutting edge than their hosts, as Young and Evra produced two moments of quality to book their place in tonight's draw.

Young scored with a powerful 62nd minute long-range strike that left Stoke keeper Thomas Sorenson with no chance.

And Evra secured the victory when he cut into the area off the left wing before curling-in a right-footed shot.

West Ham came from a goal down to beat Tottenham 2 - 1.

Just two days after sacking Andre Villas-Boas as their manager, Spurs were dumped out of the Cup after the Hammers scored twice in the final 10 minutes to claim a place in the semi-finals.

Emmanuel Adebayor celebrated his return to the Tottenham team by giving the home side the lead, but late goals from Matthew Jarvis and Modibo Maiga saw West Ham claim a deserved victory.
