The Old Trafford side shelled out almost £215M (€275M) during the 2013-2014 season on salaries, in figures released by Companies House.
Manchester City are their nearest rivals on £205M, with Chelsea third on £190M and Arsenal fourth paying out £166M.

Southampton who are third in the top flight's table, and beat Manchester United yesterday, paid out just £47M in comparison.
