If progress was being made at Manchester United over the past few weeks, then Everton have marched in and dented the optimism.
The Reds' 1 - 0 defeat at home to David Moyes' former club has piled the pressure back on the team and the manager.
With Man United down in ninth, a full 12 points behind league leaders Arsenal, Andy Mitten pulled no punches on Off The Ball after the final whistle.
The United We Stand fanzine editor told Joe: "It's just not good enough. David Moyes has been cut slack and he'll be cut more slack. He's maintained from the start that he has a big job to do. But it's just not good enough. United fans will not accept 9th in the league although they have to at the moment and have to accept that Everton deserved their win. I spoke to [Everton's] Steven Pienaar before the game and he was very confident and said that they were going to go for the win. I'm not completely stunned by that result."
Mitten, who still ranks Moyes as a "good man and manager" believes that confidence displayed by visiting teams at Old Trafford is not a good sign for the club.
But he holds out hope that the Reds will manage to get a Top Four place and expects Moyes to get financial support in January.
"I have spoken to [vice-chairman] Ed Woodward in depth about United's finances. United have got money to spend and the will try to spend it. But the problem for United is trying to get someone to accept the money because the type of players United go for are at clubs where they are happy."
