Manchester City appear to have succeeded in their bid to sign Fabian Delph according to BBC West Midlands.
The Aston Villa captain will have a medical this weekend according to Sky Sports sources, after City activated the release clause in a long-term deal he had only signed with his current club at the start of the year.
But the 25-year-old had asked about life at City according to his new team-mate and former Sky Blues defender Micah Richards.
With England midfielder James Milner having left for Liverpool earlier in the transfer window, it has left City scrambling to fill their homegrown player quota.
As a result, they have also been linked with Arsenal's Jack Wilshere and also had big money bids rejected for Liverpool's Raheem Sterling.
Delph has six England caps and joined Villa from Leeds United in 2009.
