Louis van Gaal's first Champions League group match in charge of Manchester United has resulted in a 2-1 defeat to PSV.

United taken a 1-0 lead shortly before half-time thanks to a fine finish from ex-PSV winger Memphis Depay, minutes after club colleague Luke Shaw suffered a suspected broken leg in challenge with Hector Moreno.

However, Moreno headed in a corner and Luciano Narsingh's header from a pinpoint left-wing cross from Maxime Lestienne gave the Dutch champions the lead.

Meanwhile, Man City slipped up at home to last year's runners-up Juventus. Like United they took the lead, when Vincent Kompany headed in from close range.

But Juve fought back with a goal from Mario Mandzukic and an excellent finish from just outside the box from Alvaro Morata.
