Liverpool are moving close to completing a €8 million deal for Celta Vigo striker Iago Aspas.
He is set to undergo a medical at the Reds' Melwood training ground today.
The 25-year-old Spaniard has long been linked with a move to Anfield, despite helping his hometown club survive their battle against the drop in La Liga.
Aspas scored 12 goals in 35 games this season. He will follow former Manchester City defender Kolo Toure to Merseyside as Brendan Rodgers strengthens his options ahead of next season.
However Luis Suarez' future remains up in the air with Real Madrid reportedly preparing a bid for the controversial Uruguayan.
Liverpool have also been chasing Sporting Lisbon's 21-year-old defender Tiago Ilori who was the subject of last weekend's Scouting Report and has broken sprint records at the Estadio Jose Alvalade.
