Last night, for the second season in a row, Liverpool lost away to Hull City in the league.

A Michael Dawson goal, late in the first half was enough to give Steve Bruce's side a 1-0 win and ease their relegation troubles.

The Tigers now lie in 15th place, four point above the bottom three with only four games remaining.

It was Liverpool's third loss in their last six games and now look likely to miss out on next seasons Champions League.

The Reds are in fifth place, seven points behind Manchester United.

Brendan Rodgers' side are level on points with sixth place Tottenham and one point clear of Ronald Koeman's Southampton.

Fifth and sixth place are only guaranteed spots in next season's Europa League. 

If Arsenal defeat Aston Villa in the FA Cup final, the seventh place side will also qualify for next season's competition.
