FIFA president Blatter insists the 2018 World Cup could actually help bring peace with Ukraine.

The tournament will be held in neighbouring Russia, which has been accused of meddling in Ukrainian affairs during the recent civil conflict.

But Blatter, who also warned against nations boycotting the 2018 tournament, feels the World Cup could be the event which brings peace to the region:
