The Cleveland Cavaliers produced a record-breaking display to ensure this season's NBA Finals will go to a fifth game at least.

Trailing 3-0 going into Friday's game against the Golden State Warriors, LeBron James led the charge with a record ninth career triple-double in a final series.

He scored 31 points to go along with a productive eleven assists and ten rebounds to keep his side's slim chances alive.

Kyrie Irving chipped in with 40 points while Kevin Love dropped 23 as the home side ran out 137-116 winners.

The Warriors went into the game looking for a historic 16-0 sweep in the post-season only to watch as their opponents clocked up the records.

The rampaging Cavaliers clocked up six scoring records ranging from most points on a Finals' quarter to most three-pointers scored in a Final's half."

"It’s going to be even tougher in Game 5, but we look forward to the challenge,” said James afterwards.

The teams head back to California for Game 5.
