Luis Suarez says he accepted that he had no future at Barcelona after his first conversation with their new manager Ronald Koeman.

The former Liverpool striker has made a six-million Euro move to their LaLiga rivals Atletico Madrid after five seasons at Camp Nou where he became the Catalan's third top-scorer of all-time.

Suarez broke down in tears before his final press conference at Barcelona, saying he'll "always be grateful to Barça" for giving him the chance to live his dream and experience unforgettable moments.

"Obviously I feel that I'm good enough to continue competing in LaLiga. I'm looking forward to it, and I'm leaving in the the same way which I arrived, as a competitor. With this new challenge I can show that I can continue competing.

"When the new coach (Koeman) called me, I was expecting the news (that the club wanted him to leave). I can accept it and, as I said from the beginning, I had a contract and I was going to continue training. I told him that I wanted to keep training until I found a solution."
